Hey everybody - thanks for playing on Sunday morning and at the Acteens coronation! It was a good day. This week we have a special guest. Mark Powell will be coming down to join us for the worship set in the contemporary service. We've chosen songs he enjoys and is familar with. Set 4-25-10

Thanks again guys for being flexible this week! I thought the set came together really well on Sunday morning. This week Paul will be out Sunday morning, so Gavin will be moving over to bass. Matt is going to join us so we can still have 2 guitars. I figure this will allow Ryan to play electric on some of the songs to fill out the sound. Thanks guys!

Also, I've included the 2 songs we've been asked to do for the Acteens coronation on Sunday night. I figure we can run through these songs at the beginning of practice with Paul since he'll be there Sunday night. Then he can jet and we can work through the morning set. I look forward to seeing everybody Thursday at 8:30pm at the college building!

4.11.10 Set

Hey guys! I'm really looking forward to this next week's set. Here's the breakdown:

Title/Artist/Album - Key we will be playing it in

Happy Day/Tim Hughes/Holding Nothing Back
- C (mp3)
Solid Rock/Delirious/The Mission Bell - A (mp3)
From the Inside Out/Hillsong/United We Stand - C (mp3)
Hosanna/Hillsong United/All of the Above - E (mp3)
My Glorious/Delirious/Glo - A (mp3)

In case my links don't work, here's the folder with the charts.
And here's the folder with the MP3s.

Specifics:

-Happy Day: We'll be playing this just as it is on the album; big, lots of energy.

-Welcome-

-Solid Rock: Gavin, I want you to play the intro riff that continues throughout the song. After Bryan finishes his welcome, start playing it. We will vamp on that intro softly while people meet and greet, then when it's time to start the song Gavin and I will play through the intro once big and we'll start the song.

-Offering-

-From the Inside Out: This will be the offering song. Once the offering has been taken up I will invite everyone to stand to finish the song.

-Hosanna: Angela, this one is yours to sing. The intro will be just as it is on the album, except that I want Jim to play the intro riff and Gavin to play chords underneath, just one strum/chord. After the intro we'll switch it to guitars on top and keys underneath, like it is on the album. I'll be switching guitars coming out of "From the Inside Out" during the intro for this one.

-My Glorious: I want to transition out of Hosanna straight into this one. I will write the songs together on the same chart to show the transition. Like it is on the album, the first verse will be drum and bass driven with a keys pad underneath it.

The most technical part will be the transition between "Hosanna" and "My Glorious", but that won't really be that hard. We've just got to make it seamless. I want all of our transitions to be as smooth as possible. I'll have to switch guitars twice, between "Solid Rock" and "..Inside Out", and then from "..Inside Out" to "Hosanna". After "Solid Rock" Bryan will come up to start the offering, so that'll give me enough time to switch and be ready to start "..Inside Out" as soon as he is done talking. After we finish "..Inside Out", I'll turn around and give David the nod to start "Hosanna" as I switch. Shouldn't be that hard, but we'll run it through on Thursday just like we'll be doing it on Sunday.

See ya'll Thursday at 8:30!

David and Paul, this is the same set we'll be doing on Wednesday. Let's plan to get to 9:10 at 8:30.
